Putting together this entry made me realize, again, that I really should post more. Or at least have a private document somewhere to keep track of this stuff. Also, I started writing this in TextEdit, but it hung indefinitely. I blame iCloud. Seriously, how is it ever excusable that a text editor / word processor … Continue reading 2013 In Review

Dream Logic
Right! So I got an ear infection last week, possibly because of the huge build-up of wax in the ear. Maybe vice versa. Additionally, it's actually been summer in Vancouver this year, and my apartment is sweltering. These thing collided last night to keep me from sleeping... but I was so very tired from a … Continue reading Dream Logic
Life Goals
Generally not work related. Frequently travel related. The lists aren't in any particular order and will change as I add things to them. Travel Go suntanning in a Roman ruin. Go to a nude beach. Road trip to Key West, Florida. Burning Man (?). Go to Paris. Go to London. Go to New York. Go … Continue reading Life Goals
Gottacon
Gottacon! Early this February was the fifth iteration of Gottacon, a gaming convention in Victoria, BC (actually Saanich). And it was my second time attending. I didn't really talk about it here last year (because I fail at blogging), but I'll try to cover the basics and give brief impressions of both events. So, some … Continue reading Gottacon
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
In addition to getting messed up by an ear infection this past weekend, I beat Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood! Thoughts: The actual story was a little underwhelming. Early in the game it looked like the story … Continue reading Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood

Redshirts
I was totally going to do a critical reading of John Scalzi's book Redshirts: A Novel with Three Codas, but I ended up racing through the book. That tends to happen when I read Scalzi novels. But I did write a little after the prologue. It was a little meandering, honestly. I'll just copy the … Continue reading Redshirts
The Avengers
"That's my secret, Captain: I'm always angry." That alone would redeem a lesser movie. But The Avengers is actually very good movie. It even makes me want to re-evaluate Thor, because Loki works so well. Plus it has Robin Sparkles. ❤
Venice in a Day
http://vimeo.com/40977797 It's tilt-shifted, of course, because that's what all the cool kids are doing these days. It's still awesome. And I will be there soon.
Evil Dead the Musical
Last year some friends and I saw "Evil Dead the Musical" at the Vogue, and it was sufficiently awesome that we (a slightly different group of friends and I) went to a new production on Granville Island. And this time we sat in the splatter zone. 😀
